Illegal charging and termination ended with DKK 71,800 for the tenant

The case started a year and a half ago. The landlord was illegally charging for renovation, which should have been included in the rent. Our caseworker, Per Olsen Dam, got DKK 5,400 back to the tenant and the rent was adjusted. After termination and vacating, it turned out that the lease was not to be handed over newly renovated. The tenant therefore received an additional DKK 9,225, and after a disagreement about doors, the case ended with DKK 2,000 more for the tenant. The landlord's illegal termination resulted in further compensation, so the tenant received a total of DKK 71,800.

Refund of deposit

"Lejernes Hus helped me get my entire deposit back and I didn't have to pay extra heating. As the landlord had not summoned me to a vacancy inspection, and as the landlord did not send me the vacancy report within 14 days, Lejernes Hus says that the landlord has no claim to repair the lease when I vacated."

I have therefore received DKK 29,397.24.

Vacancy requirement of DKK 102,000.00.

"When I moved out of the lease, my landlord made an eviction demand of DKK 102,000.00. I was completely shocked! Lejernes Hus helped me with the case and in the end, the Rent Tribunal heard the case and decided that the landlord had submitted the vacating statement too late, and therefore the landlord's renovation claim was cancelled."

I have therefore received my entire deposit back, less last month's rent.

Lejernes Hus helped me from the very first call, where Bettina gave me good advice about moving out, even though I wasn't a member yet. I also followed the instructions on their website. After a few conversations, I signed up and quickly got in touch with case manager Jan. He went through my entire move case from moving in to moving out and found several errors on the part of the landlord that I hadn't realised myself. Thanks to his thorough work, the case was quickly finalised and I received not only my full deposit, but also an additional 10,000 kr, for a total of 30,000 kr. I am very grateful and satisfied.
